| Reeski was founded in Aspen, Colorado in 1991 by Jeff
Theobald, an avid skier and entrepreneur who discovered a pile of skis in a dumpster
one day and came up with the brilliant idea to recycle discarded skis and snowboards
into functional and attractive furniture and home furnishings. In 1994, Reeski was
granted a U.S. Patent for the design of the Adirondack Ski Chair and sales have been
soaring ever since. What started off as one person's idea funded by two credit cards
(and later a loan from the Small Business Association) has become the premier
furniture company for original recycled ski and snowboard products. |
| In recognition of Reeski's dedication to guide America
to a new way of thinking about ski and snowboard trash, the company has received two
high-profile awards. In 1995 Reeski was awarded the ski industry's Golden Eagle
Award for Recycling Excellence. The Golden Eagle Award program was started by Ski
Industries America in 1993 in an effort to encourage the ski industry to be more
environmentally responsible. In 1996 Reeski was awarded "Best New Innovation" at
the National Inventor's Expo in Florida. The Expo and Conference, sponsored by the
Commerce Department's Patent and Trademark Office, the Intellectual Property Owners
(IPO) and Epcot Center, highlights the important role individual inventors play in
shaping our daily lives and in creating the new products, services, companies, and
jobs that make our economy grow. |

| Reeski recycles approximately six tons (that's 12,000 pounds!)
of skis and snowboards annually. The majority of this product comes directly from
the manufacturers in the form of factory seconds, warranty returns and test stock.
Reeski also recycles locally in its home state of Colorado through ski and snowboard
shops that donate to the cause. We are proud to say that we have helped change the
way an entire industry thinks about its waste. |
| In addition to the handmade construction of Reeski's products out
of its company headquarters near Aspen, Colorado, Reeski has also been involved in
several special projects in recent years. For The Sno-Core 1999 Concert Tour, Reeski
constructed a traveling concert backdrop and interactive display for the national
tour of 40 concerts featuring the bands Everclear and Soul Coughing. The Aspen
Skiing Company purchased snowboard benches to place at the top of primary lifts at
its resorts to provide a durable, comfortable seat upon which snowboarders may buckle
up after getting off the lift. And finally The Reeski Lounge is a bar and restaurant
concept where all fixtures, furniture and décor is constructed out of skis and snowboards. |
